Bed Bugs

They are small insects that suck the blood out of humans.
Their bites can leave behind itchy, red welts. The welts can lead to infection from over scratching. Unlike most bugs, bedbugs are not limited to one type of dwelling, so everyone is susceptible.

Why Are Bed Bugs So Hard to Treat?

Bed bugs are hardy little things. They can live for a year or more without eating. They can withstand extreme temperatures, from almost freezing to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Getting rid of bedbugs requires vigilance on behalf of the homeowner or business owner and the pest controllers.

Bedbugs are not an indication of fifth or sanitation problems, whether they are found in the home or hotels. Bedbugs spread quickly and are elusive. They are often found in areas other than beds, and because they dwell in so many places, they can be harder to eliminate.

Be aware of your surroundings. If you come home from vacation, check your luggage and clothing for bugs. Wash linen regularly in hot water.

When sheets are being cleaned, thoroughly inspect your bed, especially the ribbed edging of the mattress. If you suspect you might have bed bugs, call us right away.

Bed bugs cannot be eliminated by at-home treatments. Call a professional at Pete’s Termite and Pest Control, Inc to inspect your home for infestation and to treat the problem. If they are discovered, we will work with you to create a treatment and control strategy, depending on the extent of the infestation.

Why Are Certain Bugs Harder to Treat?

Bugs like bed bugs, ticks, and fleas are mobile, whether they jump, fly, or run. They can easily be carried from one location to another, whether that location is room-to-room or home-to-home. Identifying the source of the infestation is the most important, and most difficult part, which is why it sometimes takes multiple service visits.

We will do everything we can to eliminate them as quickly as possible, but they are tough and evasive little things.
