SoCal’s Leading Termite Specialists

At Pete’s, we are Certified Wood Destroying Inspectors
which required us to complete testing to prove we know how to find those pesky bugs. We are termite specialists, and we are confident that if your home has an infestation, even if it is still early on, we will be able to find it and eliminate it.

What Exactly Are Termites?

Termites are small insects (about a centimeter in length) with white bodies and long narrow wings. They rely on wood as a food source.

How Can You Prevent Termites?

Eliminate and reduce moisture in and around your home, which might require you to get in touch with your plumber to have the plumbing in your home checked for leaks. Termites need moisture to thrive.

Of course, routine inspection of the foundation of your home for signs of termite damage is the quickest way to identify a problem before it becomes out of control.

Escrow Termite Reports

If a home is in escrow, we are certified to do a pre-check for termites. From there, we create a wood destroying insect report for home-seller and home-buyer, allowing both parties all the necessary information to move forward. If necessary, we can eliminate any termite problems.

Signs of Termite Infestation?

Telltale signs of termite infestation include softwood in the home, small mud tubes on the exterior of your home (often near the foundation), darkening or blistering of wood structures, hollow wood, and kick out holes in boards. There might be small piles of round pellets in spaces around the home. Termites use the kick out holes to remove waste as they tunnel.

If left untreated, termites can cause thousands of dollars in damage. They come as a colony, which means they are eating through your wood 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is estimated that termites destroy $5 million of property annually. They can be controlled and eliminated, but only if caught early on and treated by a pest control professional.
